The Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in clinical psychology. Applicants must have training in clinical psychology from an APA accredited doctoral program and internship, and must be eligible for and pursue NC licensure as a Licensed Psychologist and Health Services Provider. Expertise in assessment and quantitative methods is preferred. While the teaching and research focus is open, individuals with specialization in child/adolescent and/or ADHD/learning disabilities are encouraged. The department has been authorized by the NC Board of Governors to plan a doctoral program in persistent cognitive and behavioral disorders with foci in addiction/psychopharmacology, behavior analysis/developmental disabilities, dementia/cognitive aging, and correctional/forensic. Applicants who can contribute to the proposed doctoral program are preferred. Currently, the department has a master’s degree program with three concentrations. UNCW is a 13,000 student comprehensive university located on the scenic North Carolina coast. The department has 33 full-time faculty members and serves 600 undergraduate and 65 graduate majors. A Ph.D. is required or must be obtained within the first academic year of employment. Although teaching and research are the primary responsibilities, service is also expected. Salary is competitive.
